Captain Fulton: Distinguished Pigeon

Captain Fulton was recognized in a Signal Corps Headquarters document for his heroism during WWII. This document describes the operations of pigeons in various Theaters, and as well includes some biographical information on specific Pigeons. Most of the Pigeons described in the document are designated Hero Pigeons.

Captain Fulton’s feat that won recognition for heroism was that on May 9, 1943 flew 65 miles in 82 minutes from above Bizorto to Bejain, Tunisia, with the first news of the surrender of the German 10th and 15th Panzer Divisions.

Little else is known about the Captain.
