Greely Expedition: Day 20

Day 20: Tuesday, July 26th, 1881

Cloudy and light rain ended 7:30am. Light southerly winds. At 11am the launch with a party under command of Lt. Lockwood, comprising Sgts. Cross, Lewis, and Rice and accompanied by Governor Elberg of Uppernavik, left for “Proven,” a settlement about 2 miles to the southward of Uppernavik.
