Arctic Experiment

The only information on this series of photos is the year, 1949, and the label “Arctic Experiment.”

I wish there were more labels on a set like this! Pigeons are not arctic creatures, and I’m curious how they were able to keep warm.

The US Army had pigeons and dogs work in teams before, and it would be great to know if that was tried in this cold weather location.
