Local Community College to Commemorate Fort Monmouth

Brookdale Community College Presents day-long ceremony honoring the interactions of Fort Monmouth and the surrounding communities.

From a news release by Henry Kearney, Fort Monmouth Public Affairs:

Major General Randolph P. Strong, CECOM commander, will speak at Brookdale Community College on Saturday, March 26. The day’s program, “Commemorating Fort Monmouth:  Contributions to County and Country, 1917 – 2011,” runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school’s Warner Student Life Center, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, N.J.

Other speakers in the program will include Mayor Gerald J. Tarantolo of Eatontown; Claire French, Monmouth County clerk; and Melissa Ziobro, CECOM and Fort Monmouth historian. Fort Monmouth Chaplain Lt. Col. Don Campbell will deliver the invocation. Down Melody Lane and the Monmouth Battleground Chorus will perform and there will be a variety of exhibits on display before and after the speakers program. Admission is free.
